Mr. M Amayed Ashfq Tola

Mr. M Amayed Ashfq Tola read law at the University of London (UK), where-after he went to Birmingham, UK, for his Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice Course from Birmingham City University, graduating with a commendation award. Additionally, Amayed pursued a Diploma in Taxation from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi achieving a distinction. To his credit, Amayed also holds a Master of Laws degree in International Taxation from the University of Amsterdam and IBFD, writing a thesis on how cryptocurrencies should be taxed in Pakistan. The said thesis was written as a student researcher whilst being part of the Cashless Platform Technology Project initiated by the University of Amsterdam. To-date, Amayed has worked in a host of areas of law, including but not limited to; constitutional law, tax law, international tax law, administrative law and civil litigation.

Mr. Vijay Kumar, FCA, is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan having vast experience of more than 24 years at top management positions. Mr. Kumar has served in various capacities in multinationals as well as privately owned Companies. He has immense grip over subjects of Taxation, Corporate Laws, IFRS, Corporate Governance, Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Budgeting and Treasury and Project Management. His industrial experience brings service expectations and perceptions of the client side to Tola Associates enabling the firm to better serve its clients.

Mr. Laeeq is a Chartered Accountant as well as lawyer specializing in corporate, taxation, employment / payroll matters and business regulations. Mr. Siddique holds a Master’s in Law. He carries seven years of experience of working with KPMG Pakistan.

Mr. Muhammad Asad Ashfaq

Mr. Asad read law from the University of London (UK), where-after, he commenced his post-graduate studies and completed the Bar Professional Training Course from the University of the West of England, Bristol, United Kingdom and was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales from the Honorable Society of the Inner Temple. He also holds a certification in Civil and Commercial Mediation from the ADR Group, London; is enrolled with the Sindh Bar Council; and is also a member of the Karachi Tax Bar Association.

Asad has previously worked with leading names in the profession; his legal expertise span over a range of subjects such as, inter-alia, banking and finance law, civil laws, criminal law, constitutional law, administrative law, family law, corporate law, commercial law, and taxation law.

The Legal 500, 2019 Edition, recommends Asad in the area of Dispute Resolution, wherein he is listed as an “experienced, knowledgeable and hardworking lawyer”.

Mr. Muhammad Nasir Khan is a high court advocate and LLB Hons. (Shahriah & Law) from International Islamic University, Islamabad. He has an extensive experience of 9 years in the field of taxation.

Mr. Muzammil is a taxation, financial and corporate expert. His sectoral experience covers technology, telecom, power, infrastructure, Oil & Gas, financial, manufacturing and engineering. Mr. Rasheed is a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Taxation, United Kingdom as well as Institute of Financial Consultants, Canada alumni. In addition, he is also an active member of Rawalpindi – Islamabad Tax Bar Association. His past experience inc ludes ten years working with Grant Thornton Pakistan, as a Director for Domestic and International Taxation and Regulatory Services.

Mr. Hemat Kumar joined Tola Associates as an associate in Jan 2024. He read law from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law B.A LLB (Hons) in 2022. He also did Legal Practice Training Course (“LPTC”) at Themis Law College and is currently pursuing certification as a Tax Advisor at the Institute of Corporate and Taxation, and prior to joining Tola Associates, he worked as a Litigation Associate. Hemat is enrolled with the Sindh Bar Council and is also a member of the Karachi Bar Association and has two years of post-qualification experience in litigation.

Mr. Muhammad Ahsan Ahmed

Mr. Ahsan is a PhD Scholar associated with the Applied Economic Research Center (Institution of National Capability in Applied Economics), University of Karachi, and Tola Associates. He is responsible for examining Pakistan’s Macroeconomic Indicators and forecasting on the back of both descriptive and Econometric analysis. His area of specialization is the Industrial sector and trade in which he is currently pursuing his MPhil thesis. Moreover, he has been working under Mr. Ashfaq Tola as an Economic Advisor. Earlier, he was associated with SOORTY Enterprise Pvt Ltd a well-known industry in the field of textile, where he oversees the planning of resource allocation, cost management analysis, etc. under Central Planning department.

Mr. Rahool Roy has read law from the S.M Law College, Karachi, graduating in the year 2023 scoring a First Division. Mr. Rahool Roy has also acquired a qualification of Bachelor of Commerce from the Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur. He is enrolled as an Advocate of the Lower Courts and a certified Income Tax Practitioner from the Corporate Tax Office in 2023. He has an avid interest in the of taxation. Mr. Syed Umar Ali

Mr. Umar is a Senior Tax Associate at Tola Associates, specializing in tax consultancy and compliance. He holds certifications from the Karachi Tax Bar Association’s Basic and Advanced Professional Development Programs. Previously, Umar had a vital part of the EY Ford Rhodes firm since 2019, where he honed his skills in tax strategy and client advisory. His educational background includes pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Sindh Madrasa-tul-Islam University, further enriching his understanding of tax law and policy.

Mr. Syed Affan Akhtar

Mr. Syed Affan Akhtar joined Tola Associates as a Tax Associate in July 2024. He read Law (“LLB”) from the University of London and completed his Master of Law (“LLM”) in International Corporate Governance from the
University of Law in 2023.

In his role, Affan drafts replies to notices received by the Firm’s Clients by the revenue authorities. Additionally, he assists Mr. Amayed in tax advisory services and legal opinions, while also managing corporate compliance, liaising
with regulatory bodies such as the SECP and CCP.
